Lucile and Alexandre live between London and Paris, and they share one love: Tuscany. They found me through Parisian friends whose wedding I’d photographed, the kind of referral that means the most to me. Alexandre has family in the region, so the place chose itself: Villa Buonvisi, in the hills near Lucca, between olive trees and vines.
Fifty guests, a symbolic ceremony under old brick arches, and a day that felt like a family story as much as a celebration. The idea was simple: the real Italy, not the postcard version.
A quiet morning at the villa
My favourite part might have been the morning. Lucile got ready with her girls in the villa’s coral room, slowly, windows open, laughing, no rush. That kind of quiet is rare on a wedding day, and you can feel it in the pictures. Down the corridor, Alexandre and his best man were getting ready beneath the frescoes.

A symbolic ceremony among the olive trees
The ceremony took place outdoors, under the old brick arches, facing the olive grove. Fifty people, close family and friends, and the wind playing with Lucile’s veil all the way down the aisle.

Portraits around Villa Buonvisi
The villa doesn’t need styling. Coffered ceilings, faded frescoes, gilded mirrors, brick ruins and rows of vines, all bathed in that soft Tuscan light. My job was mostly to look, and to let the two of them be themselves.

Aperitivo, the Italian way, and dancing late
A sunset aperitivo, a saxophonist wandering between guests with a glass in hand, a champagne tower catching the last light under the trees, and a bar that stayed open well into the night. All day it felt like their celebration, and like the family who welcomed everyone into their part of the world.

The team behind the day
The day was planned by Lisa of Hitched in Italy. Working alongside her was a real pleasure. And Eda, the villa’s Swedish owner, was lovely from the first hello to the last dance.

Questions couples often ask
Can a French wedding photographer cover my wedding in Tuscany?
Yes. I’m based in France, near Lyon, and I travel to Italy for weddings. For Villa Buonvisi I simply drove down with all my gear. I work in English, French and Spanish, so international couples and families feel at ease. You can read more about how I work as an English-speaking wedding photographer in France and Italy.
How much does a wedding photographer cost for a wedding in Tuscany?
My collections for Italy start from €2,900 (see my pricing), plus travel and accommodation, which depend on the venue and the dates. You get one clear quote with everything included.
Do you work with wedding planners in Italy?
Yes, and I love it. Here I worked alongside Lisa of Hitched in Italy. I share my photo timing early so it fits the planner’s run of show.
How many hours of coverage do I need?
For a full day like this one, from the quiet morning to the first dance, 12 hours. That’s my Collection 2.
